Imagine Festival Returns for 2022 Festival Season!
By: Serena Garrido // June 20, 2022
In less than 100 days, Imagine Music Festival will be back on September 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th at Kingston Downs, GA.
Imagine Music Festival first began back in 2014 with an estimated 6000 Imaginers in attendance. The estimated number of festival goers is now closer to 30-40k. Originally, the festival had taken place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, but this year it was moved to a much grassier and wooded section located about an hour North of its original location.
The new location for the festival, Kingston Downs is a family-owned and operated property located in the state of Georgia (U.S.A), just a few miles outside of Rome, GA and about 45 minutes North from metro Atlanta, GA. These grounds stretch far and wide over 5000+ acres of gorgeous land nestled next to the Etowah River. The grounds are filled with open fields, pastured, sprawling woodlands, hiking, biking trails, and 9 miles of gorgeous river front.
After being cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Imagine Music Festival was set to return on September 17th - 19th, 2021. Though, Hurricane Nicholas had other plans and was instead wreaking havoc and causing severe weather conditions for the area of Chattahoochee Hills – the area where the festival was set to take place. The festival organizers deemed it necessary to cancel the festival due to the impending weather. They posted an official cancellation notice on their website, less than 24 notice. The notice went on to summarize that the weather conditions would be hazardous and unsafe for the area. It was with much thought and consideration for the safety of all, they officially cancelled the festival and wished for a promising return in the 2022 year.
On March 22nd, Image released their 2022 Phase 1 line up featuring headlining artists such as Excision, GRIZ, and Kaskade. Seven Lions will be headlining the Thursday Ophelia Records Pre-Party. Many familiar artists appeared on the line up and include artists such as Ganja White Night, Gorgon City, Madeon, Liquid Stranger, San Holo, Subtronics and so many more. We’re hoping there won’t be too many scheduling conflicts considering the endless amount of talent listed. On June 9th, Imagine posted a teaser clip on their Instagram that noted the Phase 2 line up would be coming soon. It looks like this festival is shaping up to be a stacked festival with a variety of incredibly talented artists playing bass, mind melting liquid dub, melodic dubstep, head banging house dub fusions and tons more.
This year’s 3-day festival passes also includes tent-only camping access with early Thursday arrival/entry. Tickets can be purchased in tiers of 3-day GA, VIP, GA Car Camping and VIP Car Camping. VIP pass holders get cool new additions and access to quick entry points, the Mermaid Lounge, VIP pool access and more! There is plenty of information regarding GA, VIP, Camping, Thursday Early Arrival, Pool Parties, and the Pre-Party Concert that be found on their website on the FAQ page.
We can’t even begin to Imagine what else this festival has in store for us! See you this September for our first Imagine experience!
